The Chichester District Community Safety Partnership (CSP) has published a questionnaire on what they should prioritise for 2011-13.

The CSP are a group that seeks to ensure the responsibilities outlined in Section 17 of the Crime and DIsorder Act (1998), which places statutory duty on all partners to take into consideration the effects of crime and disorder, are respected in all aspect of their work. Among the partners in Chichester are:

West Sussex County Council

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service

The questionnaire asks residents of Chichester which priority (of a supplied list) is most important to them. The listed priorities include:

tackling anti-social behaviour, in particular, repeat and vulnerable victims and places;

delivering a range of early interventions to support families at risk of causing harm to their communities, and helping to tackle the barriers to reducing re-offending;

responding quickly and positively to predicted and emerging crime trends; and,

increasing public reassurance and confidence, and addressing negative perceptions of safety.
