Great-tasting Spanish tapas and paella

El Castizo in Victoria Court, Chichester is a restaurant serving great-tasting Spanish tapas and paella. The head chef is Spanish so the food you get is cooked according to authentic recipes and served in a setting designed to evoke the experience you would have in Spain. This really is a fun way to eat.

    El Castizo Spanish Tapas Restaurant

Popped in here today for lunch with my mum and we were both really impressed with the whole experience. When we first arrived the weather was quite nice so we made the most of it with a drink on the sunny little terrace just outside the restaurant, which is hidden in a secluded courtyard. Very relaxing and a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. When it started to rain, James the owner quickly found us a table inside and I have to say that it was just as delightful and atmospheric as it had been outside. The restaurant is tucked downstairs in a cellar which had a warm and cosy ambience with flickering candlelight and traditional Spanish. James was so welcoming and friendly and was willing to spend time with us and advise us on the huge choice of scrummy looking dishes. We chose to go for the lunchtime menu which consists of 4 Tapas dishes for £14.00. We werent sure if 4 dishes would be enough as we were starving, but we were advised to start with that and order more if we were still hungry. Thank goodness we didnt order any more as we were stuffed and very happy indeed. The food was delicious, with crisp Calamari and rich meatballs in a tomato sauce, all cooked freshly in the tiny little kitchen by the Spanish chef and co-owner, Diana. We will definitely go back there really yummy and lovely atmosphere.
