I have to say that I was really pleasantly surprised by The Barn when we went there on Sunday for lunch. I am not normally a fan of large chain restaurants, but I would certainly go back there again now I have tried it. It was extremely busy but even though we hadnt booked we were seated within only a few minutes. The staff were very friendly and polite and the fact that they were busy, was not reflected in the quality of the service. The salad bar was well stocked and replenished frequently and we were able to re-visit as often as we wanted to. However, the portions of the meals were so generous that we couldnt find room for seconds! My husband and I shared a huge platter of chicken which was incredibly moist and delicious and my daughter enjoyed her choice from the childrens menu. Although we didnt try anything from it, the vegetarian menu looked yummy and there was a good selection. It was also very good value for money and we were quite shocked at the bill! Scrummy and VERY filling!
