Fantastic Inn that does great food made with quality ingredients and served fresh and hot, unlike lots of more bog standard pubs. They also have a decent range of well kept beer and some nice wines on offer alongside plenty of soft drinks for those on better behaviour! But the best thing about The Fountain is the setting which just oozes history and really makes you feel like you're somewhere a bit special, which you certainly are.

The Fountain Inn in Southgate claims to be one of the oldest pubs in Chichester, and incorporates Roman ruins and HG Wells into its considerable history. The fact that it's divided into two distinct areas, a restaurant and a traditional bar area, means that it comfortably caters for a wide range of customers.

Had a great Sunday lunch at The Fountain Inn; a family friendly place with bags of character and a Roman wall running through the restaurant. Great service with enthusiastic and cheerful staff and only a Stones throw from the town cross. Friday jazz nights and quiz nights are excellent with a great clientele, I highly recommend this place.
