Yesterday evening I found an injured bird in my driveway and took it Brent Lodge Wild Bird Hospital. It was about 7:30pm and so I was worried that no-one would be there to help. However, I didnt have to be as the hospital was still open and I was greeted by a really friendly member of staff. He did not hesitate to take the baby bird from me and handled it with great care and genuine affection. I was given a patient number so that I could enquire about it and was thanked for bringing it to them. I wasnt asked for any payment or personal details, and I felt assured that the bird was going to be given the best chance possible to recover. I do know that the hospital are desperate for donations of tinned cat and dog food (they help lots of different animals) so if you do take an animal there, they would be extremely grateful for any you can spare.
