Three new cycling guides have been published for rides within the Chichester District.

The routes all begin at the Market Cross in Chichester but they all range in length and difficulty meaning there is something new for everyone. The guides cost a mere 50p each and can be purchased from Chichester Tourist Information Centre having been produced by CDC.
The three featured rides are:
Centurian Way - a very simple ride perfect for families which takes you from the Market Cross in Chichester to West Dean;
Bill Way - a ride suitable for riders of all abilities which also takes you from the Market Cross to Pagham Harbour taking an estimated hour and a quarter;
Itchenor Bosham Circular - a slightly more hardcore circular 14-mile ride from the Cross to Itchenor/Bosham but there is a nice break included on the seasonal ferry crossing from Itchenor to Bosham.
While the guides obviously include a comprehensive map, they also include a number of fascinating local facts and information about nearby attractions, such as places to eat, village shops, cycle shops and bike hire locations.
Eileen Lintill, who is the council's Cabinet Member for Leisure and Wellbeing, says: "Now that summer has arrived, it is a fantastic time to get out on your bike. These rides can be done by the whole family and at your own pace. Cycling is not only good for the environment, it's also a great way to get fit and healthy. So what are you waiting for, hop on your bike and explore our beautiful district!"
Anyone fancy purchasing one? I feel that in our world of technology and consumerism people often forget (myself included) the wonder of simplicity and there certainly is plenty of wonder in the simplicity of a bike ride with a map!

Definitely buying this. I've done the Chichester to Bosham circular ride. Utterly brilliant. Goes down the canal path and then through the harbour and then you cross on the little ferry from Itchenor to Bosham. And then stop for a roast dinner in Bosham. Great day. Do it!
