Now that the year of the much anticipated Olympic Games in London is upon us, I am sure there are many of us wanting to get fitter and healthier so hear are a few basic tips!
-
Priory Park is a great place for regular walks!
One surprisingly important factor is to wrap up warm over the Winter months. This is important whether you are inside are outside and obvious good ways to keep warm are to keep the body moving to generate extra body heat. Any kind of activity will help including regular walks which has significant health benefits. Also be sure to look out for any elderly neighbours or relatives through the Winter as well!
One great way to help your health is to give up smoking and New Year is a great time to say goodbye to the habit. There are many things available to help you stop smoking but you can start by contacting your local Wellbeing Advisor at Chichester District Council who will give you free and specific advice.
And as I'm sure many of you have seen the talk of having more "alcohol free days" recently, it is very true that watching your alcohol intake will benefit your health. As boring and patronising as it sounds, the recommended limits of no more than four units of alcohol a day for men and no more than three a day for women are there for a reason. You might be surprised how much difference the alcohol makes to your health.
Well there are some basic ways to get fitter and healthier in time for London 2012! Feel free to add any insightful tips if you have any!
