My pet hate.... people who cycle on the pavement despite there being a £30 fine for doing so. Swear at you if you don't move out of their way or try to intimidate you out of the way! Cycle paths are available so that should be sufficient. If they are unhappy about riding on the roads, don't cycle then! If you want to put other people, the elderly, infirm, toddlers or the deaf or blind then get insurance and be prepared, like motorists, to pay the price.

Keep death of the pavements!

A very fair point and well made, but I would put people who cycle in the Pedestrian Precinct outside the permitted hours at the top of my list.

Poking a stick through their spokes would doubtless be seen as more of an offence then them being fined. The way I read the No Cycling notices seems at least to this thicko that you can cycle in the Precinct on Sundays..........

I have no fear of cycling on the roads for most of the time but having used the Cycle Lane at Fishbourne today, I was nearly clocked by an HGV (memories of Stanley Baker and 'Hell Drivers') because WSCC have not 'touched up' worn bits of the paintwork delineating the cycle lane from the road. I also made the HUGE mistake of having four operating lights on my bike, two front and back and wearing a reflective jacket. Also using the cycle lane has brought forth some 'interesting' comments from certain motorists (which are returned in similar vein, but a nice way to get things out of your system).

I comment as someone who during the course of a week can be a motorist, cyclist, pedestrian, rail user and bus user.
