Police are undergoing an investigation after a woman was attacked in Selsey last week.
The attack took place on Monday 28 November shortly after 1.30am. The local woman, 45, was walking home from a Christmas party nearby, when a man assaulted her in Selsey High Street near the Riviera Restaurant.
This was not a stranger attack. The man and woman are known to each other. The woman was taken to St Richards Hospital in Chichester but was discharged after treatment for facial and head injuries.
PC Emma Howard said; "Please could any witnesses contact us via 101 quoting serial 0052 of 28/11."
A local man, 51, was arrested nearby shortly afterwards on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and was later released on police bail until 10 December while enquiries continue.
