Seven in Hospital After Chichester Car Crash

Seven people were taken to hospital after a major car crash
along Old Broyle Road in Chichester on Sunday.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident in
which three cars were involved. A blue
Audi A3 was being driven east along Old Broyle Road when it collided with a
black Subaru Impreza going in the opposite direction. As a result of the collision
the Subaru was set ablaze which then proceeded to cause damage to a green
Peugeot.
The incident saw seven people injured, six seriously, and
all of them were admitted to hospital for treatment. Two men are thought to be
in life threatening positions: the driver of the Subaru, 30 from Okehampton in
Devon who suffered serious chest injuries and one of his four passengers, a 20
year old man from Stockbridge, Chichester who suffered serious head injuries.
Of the three other passengers in the Subaru, one 22 year old male from Rowlands
Castle suffered a broken wrist, one 20 year old female also from Rowlands
Castle received a serious yet not life threatening head injury and the final
passenger was a 27 year old man from Chichester who has broken his leg.
The driver of the Audi was a 34 year old man from Chichester
and he received a broken ankle while the 29 year old driver of the Peugeot
suffered minor injuries.

It has tragically since been revealed that the 30 year old driver from Okehampton in Devon died on Tuesday as a result of the injuries he sustained in the crash.
