Police officers have raided a Chichester property as part of an investigation into a number of electric fence generator thefts.

A series of thefts in the Tangmere and Oving area has led officers to carry out a stolen goods warrent in Halnaker on Monday 5 December. Two people were arrested and a number of suspected stolen items were recovered.

The two arrested men have been bailed until 9 January pending further enquiries. A 62 year old local man was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and a 36 year old man was arrested on suspicion of theft and handling stolen goods.

The owners of the stolen goods have now been reunited with their stolen goods but anyone who owns electric fence generators have been asked to ensure they leave their fences secure and ideally engraved with the postcode to make them traceable and less desirable to thieves.
