Police are set to investigate the death of a man from a nursing home on Wednesday 9 November.

Just before midnight on Wednesday 9 November police were informed that a 94 year old man named Geoffrey Frost-Ward had died in the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford. Mr Frost-Ward was a resident at a nursing home in Bell Vale Lane, near Kingsley Green in West Sussex. He had been taken to the hospital earlier that evening after falling down and fracturing a leg in a lounge at the nursing home.

Police have been investigating the circumstances of the fall and a postmortem was held on Tuesday 15 November at St Richards Hospital in Chichester. The cause of death was found to have been a heart failure resulting from the fracture.

A spokesman from Sussex Police said: "Detectives from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team have been investigating and residents and staff at the home are being interviewed. Third party involvement in his fall has not yet been ruled out but there has been no arrest at this time.

"There is no threat to the welfare of other residents at the home and the family of Mr Frost-Ward are being kept informed by police of any developments."
