National Love Parks week in Chichester

National Love Parks Week is at the end of this month and Chichester is really getting involved with a number of events at some of its various parks.

The week runs from Saturday 23 to Sunday 31 July and Chichester District Council will be putting on five free events - each with its own theme. 

The events that will be put on are as follows:

Monday 25 July 10am-3pm at Florence Park - kites is the theme for the first day and as well as flying them, there will be opportunity to also make your own.

Tuesday 26 July from 10am to 4pm at Priory Park - this is the main event really as it will be the celebration of the official opening of the new Priory Park play area at 10.30am with new nature, play and sport activities. The new equipment will include a toddler Priory Park castle unity, playhouse with sand, large climbing multi-unit and a zip wire. It has cost well into the tens of thousans of pounds mostly from a BIG Lottery Play Fund.

Tuesday 26 July from 10am to 3pm at East Beach, Selsey -  Take part in pond dipping, make fir cone bird cakes, explore the nature trail and find out all about the pond's wildlife from the volunteers.

Wednesday 27 July from 10am to 4pm at Bishop's Palace Gardens - There is a chance to a have a Picnic in the Park in the beautiful surroundings but there is also some apparently exciting news to be looked out for as well. 

Friday 28 July from 10am to 4pm at Oaklands Park - the activities of this day have been chosen by some very experienced people - local schoolchildren! The activities will include a fancy dress competition and a BBQ.

As the school holidays begin there are plenty of things to do with the kids over this week and I personally am very impressed by all the Chichester has done to get involved with National Love Parks Week.
