Chichester District Council
Over 53,000 households across the Chichester District will receive the forms in coming days and weeks and residents that fail to complete their form will not be able to vote.
15th October 2011 is the deadline day to have returned forms to the council but there is no need to wait until that date. In fact, the council has specifically asked all residents to complete the form as promptly as possible and homes where forms have not been completed will be receive a visit from Electoral Registration Canvassers.
Following advice issued by the Electoral Commission, each year electors must be given the choice as to whether or not to opt out the edited register. The 'Edited Register' box has therefore been left blank for you to exercise your choice
Registering to vote only takes a few minutes and as well as giving you a voice at election time, because it is a major source of information for financil institutions doing credit checks, it can also help to open a bank account, obtain a mortgage, load or other credit.
Residents have been asked to contact Electoral Services at Chichester District Council if they have not received their form by 31 August 2011.
