Drink-driving crash at Bognor Regis roundabout in Chichester
The driver, Karl Ware, 22, of St. James' Square in Chichester was arrested and has been charged with driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level in his system was about the limit and using a motor vehicle without a third party insurance. He has been bailed to appear at Chichester Magistrates Court on 4 January.
This comes during an extensive drink-driving campaign from Sussex police. Sussex police have conducted more than 5,500 breath tests since the campaign started and since 14 November 142 drink or drug-driving related arrests have also taken place.
This year, for the first time in their annual campaign, Sussex police have made it possible for people to report a drink-driver via text message. If you want to report a drink-driver over the Christmas season then text 65999 with as much information as possible and as soon as the text is received by the police, it will be treated in the same way as any other call.
