Chichester A27 temporary closure after man hit by vehicle

A pedestrian was struck be a vehicle on the A27 on Friday afternoon and has been left in a seriously ill state. 

You may have been affected by the road closure which caused traffic mayhem on a Friday evening rush hour which is hectic at the best of times. The man, in his 50s, was hit near the Pagham roundabout. Police were called to the area at 4.50pm and road closures were being put in place between the Whyke roundabout and the roundabout at the junction with the B2145 as soon as the police arrived on the scene.

The road remained closed for several hours after the incident bringing traffic to a stand-still in a number of places.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting Operation Bantam.
